Common Questions

The notice appears once per session to confirm you are a qualified healthcare professional and understand that Anaesthesia Companion is a reference and decision support tool only — not a substitute for clinical judgement. Once all four boxes are ticked it will not reappear until you start a new browser session.

Do not act on a result you are unsure about. Always cross-reference with the BNF, SPC, or your institutional protocol. To report a potential error, email hussain.danial@gmail.com with the calculator name, inputs used, result shown, and what you expected. Corrections are prioritised and released promptly.

The app uses a service worker for offline access, which may occasionally serve a cached version. To force a fresh load: close and reopen the browser tab, or on iOS/Android hold the reload button and select "Hard Reload". If installed as a PWA (home screen icon), delete and reinstall the app. The current version is v2.1.0 (May 2026) — check the footer to confirm you are on the latest version.

iPhone/iPad (Safari): Tap the Share button (square with arrow) at the bottom of the screen, then select Add to Home Screen and tap Add.

Android (Chrome): Tap the three-dot menu in the top right, then select Add to Home Screen or Install App.

Once installed, the app opens in full-screen mode and works offline for cached content.

Suggestions are very welcome. Email hussain.danial@gmail.com with a brief description of the tool, guideline, or algorithm you'd like added, including the evidence source if applicable.

If you believe a software output may have contributed to clinical harm:

1. Report the incident through your institution's standard clinical incident reporting system.
2. Follow your hospital's open disclosure policy with the patient and/or family.
3. Notify the developer at hussain.danial@gmail.com so the issue can be investigated and corrected urgently.
